Unhappy Tragic accident at Alpine Meadows

Maybe some of you have heard about this on the news, but on Sunday a 13 year old girl died from a ski accident at Alpine Meadows which occured on Friday, (the same day I went snowboading there). I even saw her go by on a sled laying down while a paramedic was giving her chest compressions, she was immidiatley air lifed out via helecopter, but sadlly she did not make it It's unforutunate something like this can happen when people just want to go have fun up in the snow. I hope everyone will be careful this season, I know I will.... you never know what can happen. My thoughts go out to her family, it must be a very hard time for them as of now.

from what I heard she was wearing a helmet but it was head and neck injuries that killed her.

thats truly unfortunate. i've snowboarded in the trees for my entire life, and its always sad to hear of someone being killed or injured doing so.

and yeah, Alpine has alloed snowboaders for years now. i was there in '99, and they'd been allowing boarders for a year or two at that point i think.

On the news it said she hit a tree but when I was there people were saying that she had hit her head on some rocks, which could have been among the trees.
