i see, iono it seems like they have to many rules for this event. are all track days like this with all these rules? cause when i go to a track i want to be able to push it as hard as i possible can before crashing, isnt that what a track is for...racing? there has to be some track days where u are aloud to pass anywhere and actaully race instead of drive around the track at a moderate but fast speed.

before you bash, learn about track days, maybe participate in one before you start thinking you know what consists of a track day?

lots of tracks you don't have to worry abuot sound limit, and once you are in group 3 or higher, you can pass anywhere on the track, by the end of the day.
believe me, your first time out, you will be nervous about passin at any ponit other than the straights
to be in group 3 you had better know the track really well, as in actually raced on it 2 or 3 times, along with lots of time on other tracks, don't think you can just get in and start with the big boys

so is this sound thingy only when they have track days? because i dont think Champ cars or ALMS cars are under 92db. those ALMS cars are the loudest things i have ever heard.

---sry for the double post i didnt know how to get two quotes in one reply, lol.

They allow like 5 races a year w/o sound limit.

I went once in my integra. Got flagged for 98db. My friends supra was hit with 102 with his silencer in. *it was actually quieter without the silencer*

Going up the hill in 5th gear at like 50mph = teh sux

Now that I have a stock car, i'd like to go back for some all out speed past the sound booth. But I wouldn't pay over $250 for any trackday.

to me.. running around at a track w/ my baby... and emulating what i did on GT3... is sooooooooooooooooo worth it.

I even got all the suspension specs for my car last night and tried it on GT3!... now we'll see if the car responds the same way

I just meant that $350+ is way too much for a track day. I went with the MR2 club for $200 at LSIR. Beautiful track.....my favorite of all I've been to by far....scariest as well.

As far as the 92 limit, I think it is for non professional week day events. There are some suggestions on the Northern California Racing Club site about adding and elbow to your exhaust to point it away from the sound station and I have seen guys use racing wire and a flat piece of metal to defect the sound down.

As for going ***** out at the track, as mentioned above, the first couple of times on the track you feel like a total *ussy hoping you won't wet your pants while braking into turn two after the downhill straight. But the rules are relaxed as you move up the latter.

Also, insurance is huge for these clubs and if (when) serious accidents occur, the legal snakes look to the clubs written rules for each event and try to find a loop hole to sue their butts off.

So, once you're out there it is a blast and you can go as fast as you can drive so get off the PS2 and try it reality style!

By the way, I can drive at lap a LS in a similar WRX (vs1) on the PS2 consistantly in 1:35 but in my real car I am always in the low 1:50's.
