Says the cars come with an Electronic Data Recorder that records speed, among other things, that law enforcement can use for accident investigations...

Was thinking the same thing. Think I read somewhere all cars since 2007 have had these. The edr here in the BRZ looks a little more advanced than some of the earlier ones. Also these things are really difficult to bypass remove as they are baked into the SRS and BCUs of the car.

Make sure to swap battery terminals. zap that stuff right gone!
