yea but GS-D3's self-destruct under any kind of sustained load. They melt in heat.
A Mini guy posted about this on his site... basically 3 run sessions and his tires were own3d.

In terms of rank ordering:
1. performance
2. lifespan (tie)
2. noise (tie)
4. cost
Lifespan is important, but not incredibly so. I expect to have less tread life than the stock rubber. 30k miles sounds like a reasonable place to start.
I'm fine paying $800, plus or minus, for good tires. After the cupping incident with the POS Continental Extreme tires, I'd rather go first-class this time rather than take a chance at being screwed again.

For actual, real world experience with the T1S, it'd be informative to read Rus Heywood's Blog....specifically the April 25 2005 entry.
Hint : the tires suck
.
IF you can find a set, the best "bang for the buck" in this type tire right now is the new Hankook RS2. Cheaper than the Azenis or MX, stickier than either, and is a VERY streetable tire (quiet, doesn't track, sticks like GLUE). I am using these for my "Street Tire" racing tires right now, and am very impressed!

I noticed {cost} was in 4th place on your list, yet it looked like you wanted reasonable life and comfort. Sounds like you want the Pilot Sport 2.

If I were getting bridgestones, I'd get the RE050a's.
But if I were gonna do that, I'd just get the Fuzion ZRi's for ****ing $80 a tire.

I'll also add on the RS2s : I had a set of S03s. I'd take the RS2s over the S03s!
Only unknown at this point on the RS2s is tire life. At the price they are at right now, I'd be willing to risk it
