yes city lights cause lot of problems with sky pictures.

Yeah, I was up too...and waited til 2:52am when it was fully covered....saw it from my living room window, using my Bushnel Yardage monoscope. That's the only type of ocular lense I own Too bad the laser on my scope couldn't tell how far away it is, so I can pick a club to hit it, haha.

don't know everyone was getting that on the pictures. some were saying it is some reflection with the gases in the air. As i am not an expert your guess is as good as mine. I wanted to do some touch up but i resisted in doing so.

could you see it in person?

It's definitely a reflection of something.......light is pretty complex so who the **** knows.
