Top 10 U.S. Cities... Really?!

So here is a study they did.

What are the top 10 U.S. Cities for your Well-Being?

Top 10 U.S. Cities for Well-Being - MSN Health & Fitness - Happiness: One Day at a Time

Ask people how they feel about themselves and odds are, you'll get the most positive responses from people who live in metro areas with universities and in the West, according to Gallup's annual survey of national well-being.

Gallup looked at 190 metro areas using a scale in which 100 represented ideal resident perceptions of their living conditions. The top 10 metros in overall well-being are:

1 Lancaster, Pa. (72.9 score)
2 Charlottesville, Va. (72.5)
3 Ann Arbor, Mich. (71.9)
4 Provo-Orem, Utah (71.2)
5 Boulder, Colo. (71.1)
6 Honolulu (70.7)
7 Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Goleta, Calif. (70.6)
8 San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, Calif. (70.6)
9 Fort Collins-Loveland, Colo. (70.5)
10 Appleton, Wis. (70.4)

Exercise: San Jose was the top-ranked big metro area, and 10th-best overall, in providing people with safe places to exercise.

While the pollsters relied on people's own assessments of how they feel, such self-reported measures tend to agree with objective data measuring various aspects of physical and emotional health.
San Jose made number 8?!? And for Exercise NUMBER ONE?? HAHA maybe for Running after your stolen car, or trying to evade bullets.

Famous philosopher Ice Cube has argued that shot gun blasts are in fact, bad for one's health.

where here's your problem:

represented ideal resident perceptions
rarely will a resident badmouth their own city (to a point)

and honolulu, really?

i can think of 189 better cities to put ahead on that list

between the vog and sketch weather, i dont see how it fits on that list unless it's just a perception
