Tool questions....
I'm looking for an air compressor.
I need something portable that'll run 110. Something with at least a 20 gallon tank that will push probably 150psi as this will be used for occassional painting. Mostly air tools but some heavy use....like a D/A sander
I also am looking for either an engine stand or an engine craddle. I need to get my motor off the cherry picker.
Any ideas on reasonable tools. Advice on compressors? Anyone have any for sale?

I mean the core unit could be the same but the air driers and oil traps needed for painting make it a different level of investment.
Running off of 120V is going to limit you to only about 2HP, which will limit your airflow and pressure.
I wonder if this is a typo?

My Craftsman compressor is 4.5hp and 150psi. IIRC I got it at Sears as a floor model for something like $210. It was originally something like $260 or so, but they had a sale and it was a floor model. Something like this, but with more hp.

Something like this might be a little more portable, but not by much.

And if you look at the picture of the first compressor closer (click on it) then you can see on the side of the unit it says "6 hp" FWIW.

a kilowatt is 1.3 HP, so on a 120 service at the residential (edison plug) limit of 15A the biggest electric motor you can (legally) run would be under 2.5hp
If you have one that's really 6HP it needs to run on 220-240VAC
They do have phony "peak" hp numbers but those are meaningless marketing hype, the wattage of the motor dictates the real power of the system.

by portable I just mean that I can wheel it out of my garage and over to my overhang where my caddy is. I don't really plan on putting it in my trunk any time soon.
It'll basically be used to run sanders, your usual neumatic tools and the occassional paint. Primer..... Most of the final painting will be done in a paint booth with real ****.
Most decent compressors should be able to handle a HVLP gun.
