honestly i think mountain biking is pretty intense if you actually go on some harder trails. its an awesome workout and really rewarding once you reach the peak of your destination. (plus coming back is awesome, downhill mtn biking is a blast)

2 hardtail Mtn Bikes
Specialized p3 (first gen OG) with inverted triple tree forks. And other Downhill goodies which make it 40+ lbs...never stays in gear, not that i would use it for XC anyways.
Kona Stuff, triangle shaped frame, Fox Fork 125RLC, about 25lbs, i use it for urban trials, and around town...single speed
I've been wanting a XC bike, but everything costs $1000 nowadays...i dont have that many $1000 bills laying around. So i might fix up an older bike if i find one, something light and gears that actually work and stay on their specified cog so i dont skip a tooth and fly over the bars or nut it on my stem.
I had a road bike that was so cool, i got it for $200, an early 90's trek aluminum bike...but it was too small so i had to sell it.
I used the roadbike to stay in shape, but i find it VERY boring to ride on road, not to mention dangerous.
I love a good XC trail, away from all the cars deep in a forest, cant be better than that.
