i didnt use breakaway hardware on mine...meaning i used fine thread instead of a loose fitting coarse thread...reverse over a curb that i purposely crawled over (to avoid door dingers) and the mudflap got sucked between curb and tire and mangled my front 1/4
I cut my fronts shorter now, but they used to be long, and waiting for uneven ground to mangle the metal like this:

i had plastic ones, but they all broke eventually...guess it was wrong type of plastic? but cold + dips = snapage

it will be like $25 total after all the flaps, and equipment...

but they will hold forever, and they won't come off unless u back over something, but they wont damage ur car, the stuff i use protects from that...
