Tires for living in the bay area

I'm getting some new tires for my SSRs I recently bought. The question I have is should I get Summer tires or All season tires? I will NEVER go up into the snow and I plan on getting Ultra Performance tires. So which is better bang for my buck? BTW, I'm planning on getting el cheapo tires like Sumitomo or Kumho (most likely Kumho's)

I had a very good expreance with my last set of tire in the winter witch were toyo t1-r. I think Im going to get them again this winter. just stay away for super sticky tires such as falkens 615's in the winter. other wise summer tires can be run year round here.

if you want a cheap decent tire for dd. you should look into some general exclaims treadwear is like 380 and the tire is super light. they can be had for about 80 bucks each.

If you are not going to drive in Snow, then I agree with everyone else, don't bother getting an All-Season tire, get a Summer Tire.

If you are just looking for a cost effective solution, then I would say you should look at these tires:

Sumitomo HTRZIII
Falken FK452

i drove on Riken Raptor 225/45/R17's for exactly one year now...

i even used them in snow and they weren't so bad.. they would actually give me some grip, but only because im not new to snow probably...

they give good grip in dry, and ok in wet.. and they are cheap!

Yep, I have these and would recommend them (not for use in snow).

Falken Azenis ST-115! I just got them today for my SSR's they are fuggin sweet duder! lol. And the best thing is Americas tire price matched there internet price so I ended up paying $559 out the door mounted and balanced with the road hazard plan for 245/45/17 not too shabby for such a great tire. They look (treadwear wise) really badass as well. I'll take a pic and post if you want.
