Don't wanna High Jack the thread but Falken ziex ze950 or potenza re760 sport? I'm leaning more towards the potenza cause I can get it $20 cheaper plus all the reviews make it seem like a stickier tire than the falken.

Proving my point.

Yes. There are some AutoX guys running RS3 and there are some track guys running ZII. Both tires, while being different, are very similar. I think the ZII also happens to be more DD friendly with it's lower operating temp and better water management.

Don't buy tires based on "wishful" thinking. The best street tires you can get are Michelin Pilot Super Sport, or the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Positions.

As for the Federal's 595-RSR, I don't understand Japanese but here's a review - there's an STI on the vid too. Very affordable, I wanted to run them but they don't make them in either 245/45/17's or 245/40/18s. Would be nice to run 255/40/17's but not a good idea on my 8 inch wide spare wheels (06 GD BBS wheels).

Probably need to pair this up with Mach V's Awesome 17x9's for the track for a good affordable track oriented setup..

I disagree on the PSS and the S-04. I think the RSR is a better street tire. Even if the size selection sucks.

You've got two very different tires. One is a summer tire, the other is an all-season...

I know that. Guess I shoulda included for DD with backroad driving about every other weekend. I've seen an all season tire out preform a summer tire once forget what tires exactly though. But is it worth it to go to the re760 over the ze950? Cause if Im going to see little to no difference I'ma just go the route with the tire warranty lol.

If you saw an All-Season out perform a Summer, You saw a very good All-Season and a very ****ty Summer. There's a reason why the two categories exist.

Has anyone here ever benefited from a tire warranty? I feel like a tire warranty is weaker than the warranty Subaru gives us. Anything we do will just void it.

I have benefited from it plenty of times. Just don't act like you track your car or beat the **** out of it or come showed up with 5degrees of camber lol. Guess I did see a ****ty summer tire cause the way it was feeling in the turns wasn't like all season. Anyways got the re760s thanks for the input lol

How come? I got them for 100 each so I figured it was worth trying. Felt sticky around the first turn I took at speed.

That's what you think. Poor grip and no warning what so ever. For the range of tire they're supposed to be. I had 100x more confidence in Yokohama Sdrives. I even did a track say on Sdrives. I didn't even think to even attempt to track the 760s

Hmmm guess I'll have to go out and test them out. Anything's better than the bald tires I had before hahah

I think that's where the rift comes in on this topic. It's all opinions. And very few of them are well formulated and based off experience.

A lot of people come off the stock tires and go to a mild tire like the PSS, the Conti DW, the S-drives, and the S-04. They experience that the performance of these tires are better than stock. Which turns into, "These are the best tires". But there are so many higher performance options out there. These tires aren't pushed very hard because few people actually use them or do enough research about them.

Except I wasn't on stock tires. Nor were my tires bald last time I purchased them. Never said these tires are the best but was saying anything cause even winter tires are better than any bald tire. You assume a lot and I'm guessing your opinions are all actually "facts"
