In that case, I'd hit google and call up some mom and pop shops. I know here in Watsonville and Gilroy there are TONS of tire shops that sell used tires. Might be able to find one like that. Or Craigslist. Good luck.

Maybe you can borrow a wheel set while you wait for your new tires?

 

you can head down to Sonnen Porsche, they throw away good used pairs of 225/40/18s all the time, they come off the fronts of 996/997s and when they sell them as certified pre-owned they HAVE to put a new set of tires on, even if the tires still have tons of tread. When I used to work down there I never paid for a set of tires on my STI for 3 years lol

sry, dont work there anymore, but just go talk to one of the service guys and see if they will let you grab a couple

and yeah, they usually don't care if you grab tires because that's less they have to pay to have recycled.

I wouldn't run mismatched tires even if it was temporary. The price for a set of 4 new tires is a lot cheaper than a new transmission. What kind of tires do you have now and how much tread depth is on them? I may be able to help you find the right used one.

 

I have a 225/40/18 tire that's pretty worn w/ camber wear at 3-4/32nd tread left you can have for free, located in san jose.

 

thanks guys for all the replies i currently have kumho ecsta ast that are pretty worn maybe 25 percent left...too bad everyone who can help is in san jose thats too far for me especially on a doughnut
