Timing Belt, Toyota
Timing Belt, Toyota
Yeah, this isn't related to Subaru but I thought I'd ask the car experts around here for their advice anyway.
My friend has an 80s Camry that needs a new timing belt. He wants to do this himself to save some money. I'm pretty handy with tools and we are both engineers with a mind for tinkering and a good understanding of the way things work.
Anyway, is there any reason he should take this to a shop instead? Is this a real PITA, or can a shadetree mechanic do this job? More specifically, do you need any special tools besides a timing light?
Thanks,
-Tom
PS: his other car is an S2000. He doesn't need a new car, just one that is more suitable for bad weather.
