Timing belt install question
It's been a few years since I've done one of these on a dohc and I'm struggling a bit with the install. I feel like I've read every forum timing belt post and watched 6 or more youtube videos on it but I can't get all the sh#t to line up right. If you have any tips or hints please share them. My question for now is if you have the crankshaft on the mark and need to rotate the cams are you ok as long as you spin the intake clockwise and exhaust counter clockwise one or more 360 degree revolutions? Do they complete their cycle in 1 turn ? I'm beginning to wonder if this aftermarket t-belt is a piece of crap and would be better off with a subaru part.

To make my post a little clearer let's say you're starting with the belt off and all the pulley marks are not lined up at all. You just rotate everything the way you are supposed to back to the correct marks and put the new belt on, or is there more to it?
Someone may have more info, but the only thing I remember is that only one set of valves can be fully open at one time. So you might not be able to rotate the exhaust valves if the intake valves are already open and vice versa.
In other words, forcing it may bend something.

You don't need the marks on the belt to line up...ignore them.
But make damn sure that the various sprocket marks ALWAYS line up during rotation.
