Time,Speed,Distance Rallye 02/21/04

It starts in Dublin. Presented by The Porsche Club of America & The Rallye Club. Flyer and General Instructions at www.therallyeclub.org. I believe this is the rallye that PSoper checked out. These people are about the only ones who put these rallyes on and I would like to encourage them with a large turnout. I have been on several and have had fun. The people are friendly and they welcome all makes of cars. I'm sure there will be some interesting roads. Lets show them that Subarus are the rallye cars. You will have fun and you get to beat the Porsches.

Hi iBlueVirus. I hope to see you there. With all the Subarus out there is only one interested in a rally? I'm disappointed.

Hi there iBlueVirus! Long time no see!

It's on my rally schedule .... just need to find a navigator. Anyone interested? I usually run SOP (Seat Of the Pants). Still manage to get pretty good scores though.

It is a hardcore TSD rally on PAVED roads.

But as has been said before, the PCA is a very friendly group and all makes of cars are welcome.

No it is a contest to see who can come closest to a calculated time based on average speeds and measured milage. All the roads are paved and public. The thing is you do not know where you are going or where the checkpoints are or how many there are. Also average speed is tricky. If you are supposed to average 30 MPH and are stuck in traffic for a mile at 20 most people would think 40 for the next mile catches up but do the math and it takes 60 to do it. If you run perfectly it is not fast but if you are stuck in traffic or worse yet get or course and have to make up time that is another story.

Hey there Bill. I don't know what's going on that day. I'll have to check the calender and get back to you. You were talking about this during the last drive while we were re-fuelling.

Hopefully i'll be free to do it.

actually- I know where you're going  and where the CP's are, but I'm not telling!

In fact this one is all "do it yourself" checkpoints, so even if you don't get there at exactly the right time, you only have to be able to figure out what the right time would have been and write it on your score card.

I really think you guys will enjoy it though, it uses some really good roads that haven't been rallied on much lately.

Yes PCA insurance rules require a navigator, but this isn't really a navagator intensive rally, so just find someone who wants to come out for a drive in the country

- if they happen to be gifted at math, well that could help a bit, but it isn't really required- just a living body in the right hand seat

hmmm... somehow I am not getting email notification for this thread...

Hello there Jane! How's it going?!

Well, since this will be on the day after my bday (hint hint people! ) I don't know how tired I would be. And yes, I am still on my first set of RE92s with 52k on them!

To PSoper...Pete if you can, try to get a couple of checkpoints manned otherwise some clown could arrive 4 hours late and claim to have zeroed everything. What fun is that? To Bushido...Rich I hope to see you there. To Everyone else.... Don't worry about math. Just run seat of the pants as Jane mentioned. That means you are just using a speedometer. Jane i hope to meet you there.
