Time to replace cabin filter?
So apparently cabin filters should be replaced every year...
Mine has been in my car for potentially 3 years.
I pulled it out today and it looks like this...

just checked it a few months ago because I read some models didn't have them, and the box where the filter should be was really dusty, ordered one off ebay and it goes right in

Replace it and check it often. Problem is the filter jams up with junk and the temp resistor chipset isn't cooled off effectively (good air flow), the chip will burn out! $150 for a 05-07 model and $60 for the 02-04 model. Filters are optional piece that can be inserted into any 02-07 blower box system. Just a rectangular cover that clicks and locks it into place.
