time off_

well peoples. I can not remember if I said farewell to you guys or not.

But I'll be out of town for a while and may be away from computers. So I won't be at UCKK for a while and I may not be online for a while.

I go down for knee surgery on Friday.

Hopefully it's the lower end surgery and I'm up and at em in like 2 weeks. But there is still a chance that it will be a full ACL replacement..then I'm screwed.

So people...your prayers and well wishes would be awesome. I just want to be on my feet so i can be ready for snowboardin by Jan. 1st or asap. This is gonna be a monster year. Mark my words. MONSTER.

see you soon.

Hey good luck man. My brother works for a medical company called Stryker that sells the scopes and stuff for operations like yours. He is in the feild everyday helping the doctors with the equipment and he has told me multiple times how impressed he is with the orthopedic surgions in the Bay Area, so from what I understand, you will likly be in very good hands.

I had knee surgery about 2 years ago and was in bed for about 2 months, but after PT, I have my full range of motion back. Just make sure you goto PT even though it's a drag...

Good luck!

i tore my mcl, minicus, and acl in October of 03. I had my ACL redone (there was nothing left of it) in November of 03. My advice is to stay in PT and you'll do fine. My knee is still really sensitive, i can't crawl on my knees. I tottaly understand the possibility of missing the snow. Hell, when my doctor told me my acl was gone, I cried cause I couldn't snowboard for the WHOLE winter. Best wishes and a speedy recovery!!!

yeah snowboarding is my life. It's why I bought a subaru in the first place. I've got 2 great set ups this year. My little brother is gonna be working at a resort. I've been reading up and doing studies...I have been studying weather patterns for years....this is gonna be a huge year. Quite possibly the biggest in modern history...about the last 125 years. definately gonna be as big as the 98 year..and if you were in the bay area you can remember the flooding of mission blvd. All the niles mud slides. Etc. it was huge. So much snow I jumped off the balcony that year. and that was at like 3300 feet in arnold.

So yeah...thanks for the well wishes and prayers. I have to ride this year.

I'll be doing PT. Work outs. You name it. soon as they tell me I can.

My Dr. is suppose to be pretty good. He's in Monterey and only does surgeries one day a week.

Good luck with the surgery man, I bought a subaru to go boarding too (getting past chain checks is SWEET). I'll see you out on the slopes when the cold stuff starts falling.

Wink frodo vs. shrek --- winter 2005

hey, bruddah!
good that you're finally gonna get your knee taken care of. too bad you'll be out of commish for a bit. but like everyone w/ 1st hand experience has said & said again, pls. keep up w/ PT.
you say it's gonna be an epic season, eh? that means we'll have too many opportunities to finally hit the slopes together & find out if i, w/ my stick figure physique, could keep up w/ the burly beast that you are. we definitely gotta hit up the bro's resort. :crosses fingers that it's bear valley:
so take care, ray! and pls. update your fellow powderhounds on your progress.
