I had this operation done in 1973. They basically used a knife and needlenose pliers to rip out a lot of cartilage. The anesthetic didn't work,so I learned what people undergoing operations experienced throughout almost all of history. The results made it all worthwhile.

Don't trip about the up-the-nose thing. My wife got scoped a couple of years ago and it was no big deal, didn't hurt at all.
