Unhappy Ticket Help VC 22350

I just got a speeding ticket in San Francisco @ 130am. I was cited for 40 in a 25 mph zone around Laguna Honda. Cop didnt have a radar or anything he was waiting to make a turn before he decided to pull me over. The officer for some reason thought I was going 50+ and was giving me a break for writing down 40.

This is my first ticket and am looking for advice on how to pay the least possible amount with the least amount of effort as well as avoiding a point on my record. So I was wondering if anyone can steer me in the right direction.

Traffic school, I think you can do it online, or 8 hour class! Will have to pay for ticket and then traffic school! I'm guessing around $200ish with traffic school. If you go to traffic school you get no points.......

+1 for traffic school.

for the fees and all, you can still expect to pay about ~$200. However, you good thing is that you will not get a point on your record if that is your main concern.

Maybe fight it because he had no radar? If not you can sign up for traffic school when you pay the ticket

Go to court.. and plead guilty and usually the judge will lower the fine and ask for traffic school.. Take it online and it takes about 20 minutes and the automatically send it over to the court so you dont have to worry. It's so easy. I tried to fight a ticket but I realized that everyone in the court that pleaded guilty got a lower fine. Good luck!

If you weren't caught on a radar it is definately worth trying the ticketassassin.com route. They saved me a ticket once when it was my word against the cops at night with no radar proof.

if you want a written declaration written ask stridyer on this forum he got me outta a ticket really easily. Other option is get an arrignment at the court and plead guilty or no contest as the other guys said but i think 15 over is teir 2 so itll be around 300+ im assuming.

It was on Laguna Honda but past the Forest Hill station but before you hit 7th Ave. That short windy stretch is a 25 zone.

If I decide to contest the ticket.... Will I lose my opportunity for traffic school?

Someone mentioned it above... and the point on my record is really my primary concern. A fine reduction and traffic school is something I guess would be content with when considering the alternative.

Is there such a thing as a written declaration for a fine reduction and traffic school? Or will I have to spend an afternoon @ 850 to see a judge.

And thanks everyone for you input. I really appreciate it.

You should talk to him directly, he will explain it better. As far as reduction and traffic school that ain't gonna happen! You can only get your fine reduced if you admit guilt and are NOT going to traffic school.
