THunder Hill Rally school and RallyX
all I have to say is WOW!!!
i learned more than I would ever imagined. Having instructers in cars was awesome, but sometimes the lines got a little long.
The rallyX now... Whoa! that was extremely fun
THANKYOU TO ALL WHO LET ME GET A RIDE ALONG!
For all those who went back on the dirt roads to try out our new found knowledge, it was a LOT of fun and hope to see you guys on the North Bay Crews Drives.
It was great on the drive back, driftin around blind corners in the dark (and light)
Left Toe Breaking has opened up a whole new world to me
Do you think there coluld have been more suby's?
Please post your stories here, ill be back but i don't have much time at the moment.
Thankyou for all of the instructors and for sfrscca.com to put this event on. Thankyou for one awesome weekend, I will never forget and hopefully nobody else who was there will either.

Hey Max, Sameer here, looks like I did have an i-club account after all. I guess I'd forgotten. Anyway, it was great driving around with you afterwards, I'll see you at the next rallycross for sure, but maybe I'll see you before then if I can make it out to another drive-around like the one we did today.
Time for me to get to bed.
cheers,

It was one helluva weekend... pretty cool to be instructed by the guys on the scca prorally and clubrally circuits. While the instructional portion on saturday got a bit dry at times, they had some good info for those looking to get into the sport. The in-car instruction was the highlight of saturday though. Too bad we didn't get more time out there.
Sunday's RallyX was a brilliant time. So many subies out there... including an old justy and RX (Russell's retro machine
) We all enjoyed Lauchlin O'Sullivan's "exhibition" lap in the Works-prepped EVO before jumping into our own rides for our sessions. I think everyone enjoyed the course... it provided endless amounts of fun in the dirt.
BUT... the highlight for me as well was the ride back with the other 4 subies brave enough to drive through those unpaved forest roads. It was only on these dirt and gravel tracks were we REALLY able to put our skills to the test. We had a few really fun hill climbs, some stretches of straight where we could open it up and finally the descent to clear lake in the dark. DAMN some of those corners were hairy.... I need some bigger & better driving lights!
Anyway, we all made it back safe and I can't wait to do it again. Thanks again to Greg et al. for putting together the weekend and also to Peter for leading us over and through the hills...
cheers - Richard
ps... for everyone who took photos, post your links and share them here!

Glad you had a fun time! I'm sorry we couldn't do any fun-runs afterwards - they're a great opportunity to try out new stuff without the pressure of timing. However, the water truck got called off to fight a fire and without that there's no way to keep
the dust down, and dust is a big concern there.
Also, please, please, PLEASE be careful on your way home. Pete knows what he's doing, but still...the fastest way to get events like this shut down is to have attendees wad it up "rally racing" on the drive back.

oh
we were very safe about it, i assure you. we didn't want to put ourselves off the road, just was able to try them out with tree's on both sides or sometimes a cliff
no worries, we made all back in one place, and only one flat and i needed to get my tire patched

Yeah we took it pretty easy, the roads back there are twisty enough that you can have a lot of fun without really hanging it out too much, 7/10's is plenty- and you have to remember that there could be a big F-250 coming at you around every corner.
the only things that got hurt on that trip were lots of bug, a couple of squirrels, and 3 tires
