for those who are digital camera experts... help plz ^^;;

i recently bought a digital camera (coolpix 2500) for recreation use... i took couple pictures and they look fine on my computer... but whenever i send it though an e-mail or host it on the webspace, the pictures come out all distorted (on some of them it doesn't even come out)... i am kinda clueless to what is wrong...

i take pic in 640x480 on normal photo quality setting and i don't resize them or nothing... i just use the nikon view 5 to import them into my computer and i don't touch it... ne one have any ideas?

i can't put pics up here because i got my free webspace taken away (sometype of unauthorized use or something... so i am looking for one now) if you want to see what i am talking about and might be able to help plz e-mail me ^^ thanks

but the pics are looking funky over email too..

does the picture just look fine on the software that you use to get the pictures off the camera, or does it look fine even when you open the jpg that the nikon view 5 software makes?

what software are you using?
are u just using the stuff nikon gave you?
might want to ask a BAIC member if you can BORROW a copy of adobo photoshop, so you can see if you like it. I had some crappy software with the camera i am using right now, and all the pics turned out like poo poo... Anyway, yeah, umm, maybe there are certain "parameters" in regards to the email you are using, or the website you are trying to attach the file too..Like on this website, you can only attach pics that are so large in file size..maybe that is what is happening
lol i dunno..good luck though

windows paint
nikon view 5 (the software that came with the camera)

and they all look fine

BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT (sorry for the buts )
i sent an e-mail to myself using my hotmail account... and the pictures look distorted, has noise... i don't think it has to do with quality... on some pictures there is so much noise that you can't even see the pictures... the average size of my pic is about 75kb... i used to send and recieve other pictures through hotmail and they were fine... i don't know what is going on... anyone have any clue? or had similar problems? thans in advance ^^

Time to look at that manual and find out what file formats your camera is saving the image as.

Send a few of those pics this way: kym@kymphan.net

okay... next test.

zip it and then immediately, try to unzip it.

if it goes out fine, then try to send it out.

also, you can try to check the MD5 value of the zipped up file before and after.

you can download a dos version of an MD5 utility. click here for a description:

http://userpages.umbc.edu/~mabzug1/cs/md5/md5.html

if the MD5 values are diff, something is wacky with your ISP or your email program when it sends it out as attachement.

keep trying...

send me your email addy and i can test send you a nude pix of anna kournakova. see if you open that... [insert evil smiley]
