I have never had a single good experience from any Subaru dealership Nor Cal. I've been to Walnut Creek, Livermore, and Santa Cruz. Every dealership I've taken it to has f-ed up some part of my car.

Ask Moike from Gruppe-S, as he saw what Santa Cruz Subaru did. As he thought I dropped a can of paint in my engine bay...

In the Bay Area, schools are probably THE biggest factor in house prices. Take 2 exact same built houses in Fremont. One in the Mission San Jose district, and one in the Irvington district, and the prices will probably be 1.4Mil and .8Mil respectively.

Yeah, Bay Area dealerships suck *** and rip off customers. Go to Orange County instead. I make an excuse to drive down from Berkeley whenever I need service on my car.

wow thanks for all the info guys, it is all helping to make my decisions.

roo thanks for the favor, i will give him a call sometime in the next couple days when i can make some time in the afternoon. i wish i'd read this this morning as i had today off. i still have my doubts that a dealer could wait two and a half to three months for me but you never know. thanks again.

on a side note, getting the car ready for the golden state

it went to the body shop today to get all the missmatch parts painted. darned san remo red has no accesorys in that color. i have sti fog covers, strakes in the back seat and side skirts on order.

yeah i've been there four or five different times, vacationing and driving through. I've toured cali all the way from top to bottom. always liked the bay area and weather. i want to move away from the cold up here, and i have several options, but this seems to be my ideal. the other places ive considered are either too hot or drab compared to alaska's scenery.

No worries...we've been handling a good load without the services of the tech for around two months now...but they'd like to have another tech sooner or later. It's not like he's advertising, or in a big rush to move on this, so your timetable might just be about right.

Please DO give him a call soon.

ok that sounds good roo. i will contact him maybe tomorrow, but def. before this weekend. we are friggen slammed at my shop right now, our lube tech fizted out on us, and our foreman of 30 yrs just retired. that has made things pretty crazy, so today i didn't stop all day. tomorrow will be rough to, but i'll try and find time. i need to come home to call as i don't really want anyone to know yet. i'm on the list for subie school this spring (which i'll be forfeiting to move) and don't want to mess it up incase moving doesn't happen right away. factory training would look good on my resume, and help me get into another dealer.

I'll be moving to the Eastbay in about 90 days. I'll be keeping a home in Arizona. My concern is my STI. It has an engine bay full of APS parts and is running the 3.5 APS exhaust catless. Having hear CA horror stories I've even thought about selling it to avoid the road *****. Am I too paranoid? Should I keep the car registered at my Arizona address? Any insight would be appreciated.

keep it registered in AZ until you are 110% sure you want to stay here.
Then to get it smogged, toss on your stock TBE, get rid of any aftermarket BOV you might have, and get it smogged.

Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this area as you can!!!! You want to put your kid into school here? Bad idea.
