It was kinda funny back in '01 when it was done in a tongue-in-cheek manner, but it's been played out for years. A girl from Hachioji I went out with back in the day was absolutely puzzled when she saw that mark on a highly modded WRX on the Peninsula (this was maybe circa '03 or so? Krinkov and all the other folks that attended the SF J-Town Benihana lunch meet met her before LOL).
Man we need to do another J town meet.

^WOW, tats were kind of a fail there.
The one that really bugs me the most is that now EVERY Civic and Integra ad on CL says JDM! Then I look at the add and it is 100% stock, with ZERO JDM parts on it. WTF? Do these morons even know what that means, or are they just saying it because they know other morons don't?

Even says so in item dezcipton.
Lol, I really don't think people understand what JDM actually means, and is really seen as a term like "hellaflush".
Like Hellaflush:
-be flush with wheels/body
-slammed
-etc..
JDM to them:
-Own honda/Acura

She calls herself "JDM Jenn". She's obsessed with the 2 logos and it seems like half of her Facebook statuses and captions contain "JDM as f*ck" or some other ramblings about "JDM". She and her boyfriend are the biggest ricers ever. She has a WRX.
