Is there a doctor in the house? allergies :(

I've never had allergies before this season... I'm miserable now going on two months. Anybody have any advice? Tried everything and little help if any. Claritin doesn't work... neither does any other antihisamine I can find over the counter.

What do you think?

Get some of that nasal spray **** ie. Flonase, and take 2 claritins instead of one.

Try using a saline wash, they sell them pre-made or you can make it yourself. After that, use Flonase. The saline wash stings a little but really works.

zyrtec! Go to the doc to get a prescription or some trial packets. Works way better than claratin or allegra.

Try to get checked by a specialist. You may be a candidate for the shots that they give.

Go to your doctor and ask for clarinex, and then take 2 sudafedrine with it. If you cant do that then get the claritin, take 1 every 12 hours like it says and then take 2 sudafedrine every 4 hours and it will do you good. I have been getting allergy shots for years and that still helps me. Good Luck

This has been the worst allergy season for me in my entire life. 2 freakin' months of stuffy noses and sneezing. But I got to give props to Zyrtec. It took care of my allergies for two days after just one dose. No $hit this is the real deal.

Just don't operate heavy equipment. Take before you go to sleep. Best night sleep you'll ever have....zzzzzzzz

In addition to all of that. Try Chiropractic or Acupuncture. You might be surprised at the results they can produce. I have lived with Asthma and severe Allergies all of my life. I find that I have to use less medications when my body is working more efficiently.

I have had allergies my whole life. I'm allergic to many things, especially grass. I have played soccer for 15 yrs and always had problems. I have tried everything. First off, what are you allergic to? Find out the answer to that first before you try medications. If you start getting an allergic reaction when you go outside(especially when its windy) then you're probably allergic to ragweed or hay fever. I have to change my medication every once in a while, because it will eventually stop working. Some prescription medication is good(ie. flonase), but a lot of prescription medication is expensive. My suggestion is to go to the store and buy a few different brand allergy medications and see which ones work. I will tend to double whatever the directions say. Its the only way that the medication will work. Remember, its not always the big named brands that work. I'm currently using a target brand that is really good. Also, for some reason this particular season is bad right now. Many people that I know have been getting allergic reactions and before they never had allergies. I have been especially bad this season also. If you have any further questions, feel free to pm me. Hope this helps!
