First off the ride is pretty smooth with not much feed back. The car takes off but in the higher rpm band seems to hit a wall and tops off (as though it's out of breath). The steering feels nice since it close ratio. The seats also hold you firmly in place. The tranny's gearing is nice in the twisties but on the straight are really long and seems to take forever to hit redline. Turn in's are stable and predictable with slight oversteer. Overall it's nice but i would'nt trade in my wagon for it. I'm sure if the MR spent some time with the tuners out there it would come out of it's shell and **** me off. The only thing that i really liked and still remember really clear is the sound of the turbo spooling up to that long redline. It's not worth the $42k they are asking(damn $6k markup) , But that's my opinion.
Yea, cause a stock wrx has razor sharp steering, great tires, short gearing, lets you know when you run over a pebble, and has awesome top end power.

That means the driver suks not the car.

I have run circles around Porsche GT3's and Ferrari Modena 360's. Damn those cars must suck!

and a slip and grip event? Sorry, no offense meant, but those usually don't attract the best drivers if you know what I mean.

a good friend of mine bought an Evo MR two days ago from Veracom in San Mateo for $800 over invoice. He got the price by threatening to buy from the dealer in Glendale.

Oh, and it's very fast and the steering is excellent. Better than a stock WRX.

edgar,

Because you freaked out that some guy got an MR for 38k OTD. Thats what a 34k car costs with tax , destination, lic, etc.

Yea it's alot of money for a Mitsubishi. it's alot of money for a subaru too.

i got my suby for 22k OTD w/ upgrades and the shipping plastic still on it...

i know that you have to pay tax and what not what im saying is that for a mitsu in the 30k + is a shame and waste considering they depreciate about a whole 10k in a year and most evo owners paid way more then sticker price for there 2 star crash test rated mitsu

edgar,
its a nice car dont get me wrong but its just not worth it

Yeah it was pretty hairy driving on the stock wheels and tires. Those RE92s really squeal at the limit and it helps me judge how much traction or lack thereof is available. I find these tires are pretty predictable when you're paying attention. There were a couple close calls when I didn't think I would make it around the turns but overall the stock suspension could be a lot worse on the track.

The event had one side of Thunderhill designated as a drift course, the other side was a road course. I staged in the intermediate level with passing only on the two straightaways. The white MR was really good looking, the ridges on the back window look so sweet!! It still had the dealer plates, maybe it's his first track day. I've had 26k miles of seat time and a track day at Sears Point so I'm really comfortable in this car, plus a lot of those miles were on the RE92s which make you wake the f#ck up and concentrate or you're going to diiiie!

Find me a $19-20k year-old EVO, I would love to buy it.
