they have a sound ordinance (sp). If you're too loud they'll pull you. People put elbows like that to throw the sound and cheat it. the db limit is rediculous low for a track.

i got tagged for going 93.7db at the track yesterday.lifting off would have helped it to get quieter but that feels more like cheating than the elbow

I assume this isn't enforced when they run le mans.
