It's a kind of paintjob where they do the basecoat - in this case something like a candy red - and then spray the topcoat - a darker color, and then cover the paint with film like saran wrap to create the pattern, pull off the film and let it dry.

That OB has been dead for quite a while, he's rocking a Leg Turbo wagon now with the same suspension and wheels. It's an S13 rear setup and an RX7 front setup, with an R200 out back. He definitely puts it through its paces.
