Like Chris Rock says:

You don't pay taxes, they take taxes. That's not a payment, that's a jack.

After that's said:

I got jacked for over $6700 total. I don't know why we get jacked for taxes, it doesn't say anywhere in the constitution that they get to jack taxes from me. Here's to the government and to the overpaid worthless P.O.S. politicians. I hope you all die.

taxes are a bunch of crap. first it was a war time thing, then they make it automatically taken out of your check, now F'ing Bush and his tax cuts.

let me tell you a little about his tax cuts, if you made <15K or >350 you got a tax cut. if you not in that range you paid more taxes in 03 than 02.

Obviously you're just a kid who hasn't really thought it through...you're just greedy with your miserable Taco Bell salary.

There was a startling article in the Insight section of last sunday's Chronicle, about the supposed "tax cuts" set up by Bush's administration. Apparently there were sweeping tax cuts primarily to the ultra-rich less than 1% tax bracket, but there was also a hidden stipulation in the tax laws which basically forced the taxes back on everybody else. If you still have that paper check out the article it had a big red "fat cat" picture on the page.

BTW I made $5000 this year, had over $350 in taxes taken from my paychecks, and they're giving me back $40. That to me is screwed up. If I didn't live with my family while I'm going to school now I wouldn't be able to live, thank you Clinton/Bush administrations!

All I know is...the richest 5% of American's should NOT have to carry >80% of the tax burden. My wife and I paid enough last year to buy an EVO...sure it's a lot of money, but we could live in some socialist craphole like France or some third world country like Mexico. Puts things in perspective for me.

And Sighborg...when you work independently, you have to calculate and pay estimated taxes so that doesn't happen (and to avoid penalties). Don't get mad at the gubmint because you didn't learn the tax laws.

This is a sore subject for me...I apologize if I come across as a dick.

All I know is that it is teh suXorz to be a singe person making a good salary. I need a wife damnit! Lol...

I agree with most of the taxes...I like the benefits we get from them. But I agree with Pizza about the rich getting raped. I am a proponent of a flat tax.
