I've had mine for almost 20 years :P If you're smart about placement you won't have any regrets. It's when you're 40 and get ready for a Board meeting and realize you wore a short sleeve shirt and the yakuza style full shirt tatt wouldn't go down very well. Slacks and short sleeve shirt that goes to my elbow covers all of mine up.

da wei is considered one of the best black and grey artists in the country. But he's overprised and overbooked. If you are into black and grey go to dave at GURU. He puts da wei to shame, he's cheaper and more available. Plus he's not gonna charge you $350 for a 3 inch turtle because his name is da wei.
Princess...the issue that hasn't really be covered yet...enough. Is EXACTLY what you want to get. I know it's a clover...but....
I mean do you want it graf style, new school, traditional, black and grey, realism..etc.
There are artistst that specialize in certaing things.
For instance.... Da Wei and Dave...black and grey. Both do good color work but they are known for black and grey. My buddy donnie used to work at GURU and did the clover on the back of justin's leg..you can check it out at UCKK. he's a traditional guy. Guys like Klem over in Santa Cruz are color guys.
Another great shop on this side of 17 is Temple in Oakland. Craig is off the hook.

yeah, i know, sorry this isn't much help... but if I were to get a tattoo I would try to get one by this guy. Those full body/ semi body tattoo's from these japan are just sick looking and high quality

I think the only decades where tats weren't the fad were the 1900s-1970s. Every other time point in time, they've been cool...I don't think they'll be taboo again for a long, long, long time.

no joke....it's come and gone for a long time. in the 50's there was a huge trend as well. as it became more and more widely available and modern machines were improving.
Hence Sailor Jerry.
it was considered "taboo" but was also very popular with the younguns...much like today.
It's go and come again and go and come again.
I don't have any visible tats and I plan to keep it that way for some time. But of course I still have plenty of great realestate to cover before I need to drop below the sleeves and cuffs.

I've never had one problem with my tattoos...though they are cover 99% of the time. But they are aware I have them. I've also never had problems with my piercings of the various colors of hair I've had.
A few years back we had a director with a tattoo on his kneck....gorgious piece. And our building maintenance manager would roll up on his harley, long hair beard and all.
I know several people in fortune 500 companies...some of them making upwards of $350k a year with tattoos. Visible and not visible.
You can be professional and respectable and be covered in tats. yeah there is a certain stigma that NARROW minded people still cling to but for the most part is fading or non existant. I've been working in the corporate white collar world for 7 years now, for a dude with no college degrees I'm doing alright for myself.
You can get plenty of tattoos and keep them covered long enough for an interview. Kneck tattoos on women are becoming popular because you can cover them with hair.
