if by grow up you mean when he's 60. I don't think he'll be taking his shirt off much at that point or give a **** what people think when he does. On top of that, one should never be embarrassed of something that means something to them.
It's not like he got some butterly tattoo'd on his *** or a tribal band half way around his arm.
He may not like it in 20 years..who knows...but I have a hard time thinking he'll ever be embarassed by it.
