Tail light overlay!!!

I have finally done my WRX's tail light overlay with smoked blinker and reverse at Vinyl Styles in San Carlos. I was very satisfied with their work! The price was very reasonable also @ $120 including materials and labor. I am going to go back for doing my car top also. Their shop is at 299 Old County Road, suite 9, San Carlos, CA 94070. The people are very nice too

you can get the materials cut for $40 off ebay
WRX STi Tail Light Overlays w/ Smoke Reverse Hatchback RED TINT Vinyl PRECUT JDM | eBay

$120 is way too much.

You could also paint them for about $20.

I got that one too but the quality is much difference! $120 is including materials and labor. Plus I've seen many people that DIY with the pre cut ones are kind of "not perfect". I think it was a well spent $120.

+1 I have seen a lot of people disappointed after trying to install the Bluebat overlays, in the end they mention 'just living with it' after all the bubbles. Also same goes with the painted ones, fading is pretty common. I got mine done at vinyl styles the 2nd day I had my car

the new WRX/STI tails are an absolute B**** to do cleanly, you will burn through 2-3 sets of those just to get them to come out half right, Lyle does great work and paying $120 to have them done right and come out great is a deal.

And that tail light spray paint turns dull and looks like crap in less than a year

I guess I have more experience than the typical forum user

And the paint actually works better if you do it right, most people don't.

One thing about spray, you can't fix it when you get a ticket.

I had my overlays done by Lyle does awesome work.

I don't approve of the "smoking" part. So otherwise, it wouldn't be an issue. And paint is fairly easy to remove.

Very nice! I went with that exact setup (redout w/ smoked turn & reverse) abt 3 weeks ago from Lyle at vinyl styles. Highly recommended. A have a "before" and "after" shot in my Album. He does a great job.

*slighty off topic*: I just put on my r205 fender badges on as well, so my operation "remove-the-chrome" is pretty much complete.

The cool thing I should also point out is that even with the smoked reverse and turn signals, they still show their appropriate colors as if there were no smoked overlays installed. Transparent, yet durable. Nice contrast with car color as well. Time to get gunmetal rota grids or gunmetal rota g forces/ .....advan rs (if only these were cheap enough)
