Tahoe- Watchout for rocks, ouch
I just got back from a trip to tahoe that went to hell for me =P. I thought there was going to be way more snow than there was at northstar. We'll long story short I was going through trees and stuff on the frontside which 'looked' to be pretty safe with not many visible obstacles but I was wrong. I was going pretty fast going over little jumps and well what I thought was a landing was really a rock so I was pretty much in mid air with nothing to do and ending up with my tailbone nailing the rock. Broke it pretty badly and cant really do much now other than laying down.
I guess there is a good side though, I got a bunch of norco (double vicadin) and a shot of morphine heh. Just wanted to warn you guys that theres not much snow up there as you might think.

Ouch! that's a bummer of a way to start the season, probably ended this one for you too.
from what I've heard snow cover is pretty thin everywhere but for up in WA/OR and northern ID. I'll wait for a couple more storms before I go out to wreck my boards

screw northstar.
Rule....anything under 3 foot of base.....stay out of the trees. I put a slice in the bottom of my board but nothing bad.
Sorry for your injury. Sucks. Specially so early in the year. Norco is gnarly. I'm surprised they gave it to you. that's what I was on for my knee surgery. When I busted my tail bone I didn't have anything. Just had to sit weird...shoot its been YEARS and I still have trouble with it a lot of the time and **** triangles. Good luck with recovery. Trust me...do what they tell you.

no joke. There has been NO snow this year. It's rediculous. And whatever we get gets blown away. Crazy cold and high wind low moisture year so far. Can't wait for end of january and feb snow this year. It should be nice if this cold weather stays.
plus...northstar is the suck.
if you're an snowboarding addict and have to get your fix, bring your ishtty/old board. leave the nice board(s) at home til there is more snow!
hope you get better soon...

yup. And since I don't ride park anymore it's the suck. Though on a decent snow day midweek the long runs can be quite fun...but those are rare and on those days I'd rather be at homewood or sierra or bear or etc.... haa. I only ride north star when it's free.
