I've been watching lightning storms all evening up here. No rain thankfully, but lots of lightning. Unfortunately, the FD seem to be on overtime.
Yeah, i was outside all day, so i didn't look at the weather...
I'm sitting there, my car has nothing for a rear suspension, and the thunder is getting closer, and more frequent!

I was sitting in front of the tube when the lightning showed up in Solano County. Then it occured to me that rain + lightning = nobody at the lake! Took a little jaunt in the Scoob fom here then to here and then here and finally down Wooden Valley Road into Fairfield and back home. About a 45 mile, 70 minute loop in the rain, and an absolute blast, since I only had to deal with maybe 10 cars the whole time.

oh dude, you wanna talk thunderstorms, try living near dallas/FW.
try being new to the area, being 10 years old, trying to sleep night, and having never been in a real storm before.
let me be the first to tell you people who have lived in cali all your life what it's like. when lightening strikes near you (ie in your backyard) it is focking LOUD and it is BRIGHT. it sounds and feels like someone lit off a full stick under your bed and threw a flashbang in your door at the same time.
then, there's a tornado warning, air raid sirens start going off, and you have to jump out of bed (as if you weren't already about to isht yourself) and run down to the cellar to make sure you and toto can stay in kansas. man, the good old days....
looking back on it, it was a pretty badass display of nature's power.

Hey i had a bolt crack a tree right behind my house in the park.. Needless to say i jumped out of bed like a ninjah and had a knife in one hand and a gun in the other in under 2 seconds. HAHA felt kinda dumb when it wasnt the FBI kicking in the door.
Anyways 3-7am was hell in davis wasnt expecting much left of the town in the AM.

At least here in the bay area, it pretty much never hails (what they call hail is usually more like sleet) and there's almost never any lighting. Thus it was a treat.
I used to work in the part of New Mexico that has the second highest rate of lighting strikes in the US. (A strip across Florida has the highest.) I kind of miss it. Well, I don't miss the time the trailer I was in got hit by lighting, and the surge through the ethernet lines killed all the computers. That was loud.

The sytems from the atlantic collide with the systems from the gulf right smack dab in the the middle of florida. These huge thunderclouds just fly around constantly spraying out lightning! Its definatly a site to see... (I didnt live there, but ive been there twice)However, last night when I was coming home from work at 2am (ug) it reminded me of orlando during lightning season
