Summertime!! Radiator and A/C thread..
I talked to a local shop who sells Koyo (Mann does not) and he said it won't last any longer than OEM, which realistically should be ~100K. They also said their shop sees just as many failures of OEM as Koyo. I actually could not get a Koyo when mine cracked and the car was already apart, so I went OEM with Samco hoses. The previous owner had replaced the radiator, but his mechanic was a tard and used some Chinese POS that lasted like a year apparently. Did the radiator on the WRX at 100K.
Mine is going in for A/C pulley replacement this week since it is squealing like a pig. A/C worked yesterday though.

That is true. Now, if they just made a radiator for an '02 WRX... Maybe they do, but I can only find '08+. The last Ron Davis radiator I installed was in a supercharged '09 Z06, beautiful piece of work indeed.

I personally prefer the Koyo to the Mishimoto both in terms of build quality and material quality.
I also agree Ron Davis radiators are better than both but in a near stock street car perhaps hard to justify although Ron has made me two completely custom radiators for the L of which both used more material than a stock unit and would have been far harder to make and I was only stung $500 + shipping each time which in terms of money pissed into that car is a relative bargain for the quality and workmanship

So tell me again how you think two nearly identical products are different in quality?

This is the case with most brands no matter what the industry.
Even big brands such as spy sunglasses have horrible quality control due to them having manufactuering in china and italy. Obviously the italian spys are much better quality due to the better QC.
Its no surprise that two DIFFERENT companies differ in quality assurance making essentially the same product....

Aren't these radiators both 3 small row core? Koyo being the higher quality. No one mentions the CSF brand, because it's only a two row B-shaped which makes it have a larger surface area, and built more efficiently. Is in between the price of Mishimoto and Koyo.

Cooling done, byway of the LIC product!
LIC Motorsports one is probably the best one. So good time attack cars run it and you get an oil cooler too.
I think it's too thick to run on my older body style car, but of there is a fan solution to fit it, I may save for it now.
Its just too badass.
