Yea I'm looking for a summer job too, still college student / I'm 20 right now. Last summer I worked at Conference Planners in Burligame installing software and hooking up computers and going on site to computer tradeshows. The job payed pretty well but I'd like to find something in the Fremont/Newark/Union City area cause I didn't like having to drive around that much. If somebody knows a good place here in the east bay PM me and let me know, thanks.

-Jeff

I actually just talked to people working at Kragen, they're 17+ (I don't know why it's such a strange #.. instead of 16 or 18) but you can try there. Also, since I was looking into more automotive places, America's Tire hires 16+ so you can try there too.

Always a cool job for car enthusiasts: VALET! All you need is a driver's license and a clean record. Minimun $8.50 in SF + those great tips.

u know what? i was JUST thinking that...but i think in the dmv book or whatever that says its against the law to employ 18 or younger for operating vehicles as a job..sucks!! i hella wanna do that..but then..i dont even know how to drive a stick! someone wanna teach me =D. hardest part about learning stick is not finding someone to teach you..its finding a car..or someone who is willing to let you learn on theirs..but i understand..newbies mess up the clutch or gears or something.

you don't know how to drive a stick????
Dude, valet wise your SOL.

BTW:
They don't car if you're 18 or not (most companies) as long as you can drive a stick and have a clean record.
I worked w/ a bunch of youngsters.

if you live in the area of one you can always try and get a job at an amusement park like great america, disneyland, or something like that. i remember when i was in hs a lot of my friends went that route. back in the day they got paid pretty decent ($8 or so at the time), you get to meet new people and spend your time getting a tan.

i just searched around for the valet parking stuff...and most says u have to be 19 or older..and well..what happens if i crash one of those people's cars? yeah then..that just wouldnt be good..but..thanks for the suggestion anyways.

amusement parks sound pretty cool..except yeah..the closest one is pretty far away, and..since no car..it'll be hard. btw..im really tanned already, =( ..like..really..tanned.

well im still waiting for some email repsonses and the job fair to come around also.

and ryan..sf park and rec..hmm..its a gov't thing right..i dont think they'll pay too well.
