Suby neighbor weirdness...
Okay, around the corner from me in Emeryville someone has parked a brand new black 2011 WRX hatchback. I think it showed up about 5-6 weeks ago now. Parked on the street. Still has the dealer plates on. It's quite nice, I thought it was an STi at first, due to the fender bulges, til I noticed it was the new WRX.
I walk my dog past it daily, at various times of the day, early morning, mid afternoon, late night, etc.. And, as far as I can tell, it has never moved... in 5+ weeks. In the same parking spot, still sporting it's dealer plates.
Who buys a brand new car, and then parks it on the street and never drives it?
I'm wondering if it's worth giving the dealership a call to see if they're missing a WRX.

If it really had not moved for 5 weeks im surprised that the parking cops have not towed the car. 5 weeks is a long time to just sit,i wold call the dealer..

I wouldn't really have thought anything of it except it's been parked on the street this entire time, in the exact same spot, in front of a building that has driveway space. There's enough cars parked on this street daily that I think it wouldn't be easy to guarantee you could get the exact same parking spot every time. Strikes me as quite strange.

Yeah, that does sound kinda weird. 5-6 days ok, but 5-6 weeks? I'm curious to hear what the dealer would say if you called them. You could probably go stealth and snap a pic of the VIN with your phone too.

You could call EPD and ask them to run the plate, but that might get it towed is the problem. I know a lot of people in Emeryville live here on a part time basis for business because its near SF and cheaper.
