so is this just a one day thing or are people planning to make a weekend of it?although I don't believe there will be much to do in Rosamond.

im figuring that total cost for weekend will be around $500
Gas - 150 (unless u carpool, but what kind of fun will that be)
Lodging - 150 ($50/nite if u room with someone);
( i checked out some of the better hotels/motels in the area $100+/nite)
Food - 100
Entrance Fee - 30
Not sure if a one day event will be worth it
thoughts?

According to Google Maps, the drive is about 241 miles from Fremont. Just hop on 5 and drive, drive, drive.
I kind of want to do this event. I wonder if there will be camping at the track? Try to save a few bucks but not getting a hotel. I dunno. Set up a tent. Maybe use an air compressor to fill up an inflatable mattress or something.
Maybe I can get my Dad to go down with me or something. That way, I don't have to drive 4 straight hour.

Yeah. It should be too bad, even if we average 80mph. Is there anywhere to stop on I-5 on the way down? Probably would want to do it in two parts. Say drive an hour and a half, which isn't too bad, then stop for food/bathroom/stretch, then drive another hour and a half.
