nice...the gold actually goes pretty well with that car now, especially with the yellow stickers

I bet the black looks mean though, especially with the flares

Good showing guys...good showing for the wheel skills of the locks as well.

Sounded to me like you guys got nipped by the weather as much as you did by anything else. Best of luck in future events. I couldn't be more stoked that quirt looked like an idiot or rather a coward...which is worse in my book....and you guys made a great showing. This is a great thing for the shop and for Mike and I couldn't be happier. Couldn't happen to a better more deserving guy. CONGRATS>

the crazy thing is the day before, it was 86 degrees and sunny. next day...rain most of the day. next day, dry and cold... ...how they just going to have ALL the weather...???

Mike: thanks for dinner. hope the drinks were ok...!!! i kind of messed up with our funky waitress (see dave and derek). CONGRATS on the finishing 2nd under those conditions. the L looked and sounded HOT on the track. janet and i had a great time. glad we made the trip up.

Well, Yase, Steph, Steve and I got back to the bay at about 11:30 last night. No beers for me and the boys upon arrival, I just couldn't hang and wait for them besides Evo was not to happy that I was there.
My take on the weekend:

WOW!!! It was an absolute riot!!! We left GST bright and early and set out upon our journey. Made a couple of stops here and there to pick up a few stragglers to add to our caravan (willows and Redding) we made very good time, the caravan was well organized our car took lead for most of the way. We did our best the keep the trailer up to speed by monitoring for the PO POs a couple of miles ahead. We all did a very good job sticking together and keeping things rolling. Once we got into the hills things slowed quite a bit. Some decided that hanging with the trailer was a little too tedious. They went on ahead. Came time for the lunch stop, thing went a little hairy. Mike had lost the breaks on the trailer and simply couldn't make the exits so he continued on. After lunch we got a chance to open them up a bit the catch back up with the trailer. Once again we played the rabbit role for the caravan 85-90 through the Mtns, stopped for gas and got a hold of the trailer we ended up 20miles ahead of the rest. So we continued to Portland. It was a great caravan. Two ways help more than could ever imagine. Especially when it comes to boxing in road ragers.
Subiefest was a great event. It was put together very well. Constant motion. There was always something happening, Time attack, Team Orange, Burn Out, Auto Cross, Vendor Alley. Lots to see and do.
WET!!! Sums up Sat. It was beautiful on the way up, rained during the whole event, the sun came out after the event was over and shined the whole way home. That's the breaks. The best and worst part of the day was something that never happened. A certain shop from SOCAL drove a long, long way and never showed. Ode to Crawford performance for bring a knife to a gunfight and forgetting their rain tires while attending and event in Portland-freakin'-Oregon. Not even Quirts hot air could dry the track enough for them to break another "world record" LOL. For anyone thinking of doing a wide body STi; take a cue from Quirt Crawford; do not build it out of paper machea because it melts in the rain.
For those who plan to build a race car take some cues from a little Bay Area shop that we all know and love; GST motorsports. A true grassroots labor of love. The little GC that could finally put on the show that we knew it would. Mike, Tommy, Mert, Dave, Freddy, Greg, and everyone else; I am so happy for you, I am proud to raise my GST freak flag. Your dedication and devotion to everything you guys do is inspiring. Keep doing what you do. I'll be you road trip "rabbit" anytime.
I had such a good time; I can't wait for the next trip. Everyone seems to get better than the last
