no, but I think the RS i just recently sold would be more collectible. after all, GM6/GC8 body was the one that won the world rally championship back in the good old days...

Personally I think Subaru should be pissed at Prodrive, Prodrive has been doing a terrible job over the last few years. Instead of pulling out altogether they should get a new WRC co-ordinator

S2000 is no doubt a big part of the decision, they don't have anything remotely eligible, not only would it be a new rally car development, but a whole new product development, including engine castings and the whole shooting match.

They probably will be back, but not until Max Mosely retires for real, the FIA goes back to allowing innovation in car development and this whole economic mess gets cleaned up.

Who do you suggest?

I don't know of any other organization on the planet that has the skills, talent and resources to support a WRC team like Pro-drive does.

wow. i honestly would never see that coming. Subaru is like the iconic rally car company. They'll be back for sure, at least a couple years with a good economy and they should definitely go back

QFT.

The FIA is steadily trying to make all of their "top line" series' into spec series. It makes me sick. The news that Subaru is withdrawing from WRC competition is depressing, but not surprising given the current carpocalypse and the eventual S2000 spec-ification of the WRC.

Bring back Group B!

Mitsu still races in the IRC. I wouldn't be surprised to see Subaru and Suzuki to follow suit. It won't have the same appeal as WRC, but hey at least they'll still be using the cars for what they were made for.

As for the Pastrana comment....There's no evidence Subaru USA is pulling out of Rally America right? Block and Pastrana should be safe.

Subaru to withdraw from World Rally Championship

This sucks, Subaru is not going to be racing in the 2009 WRC. What is this world coming to.
