If you were racing on the track (insurance defines racing as anything invloving a starting and end point, a starter - electronic or human, and either a stipulation of getting there first or fastest), then one would have to move the car off the track area and then call the tow truck......

The same goes for when you go "off-road" if you hit a tree or drown the car in a creek crossing....you are covered...It's your fault, but you are covered.

robb covered it. He SHOULD be covered by insurance, although it'll go down as a "His Fault" wreck (no other cars involved). Can probably expect a rate hike or outright insurance policy cancel after it is covered
No timing devices or racing yesterday. I still have no idea what my lap times were, but will know after I go thru the 100+ minutes of on-track in-car camera footage I have

If he is honest with his insurance company there is a very good chance that they will deny his claim. Most policies have an out for the insurance company for things that happen on "non public roads" or "off road".
I know several people that balled up their cars on race tracks and only one of them got the insurance company to pay for it and I am not 100% sure that they knew the crash was an on track incident.
He may get lucky (hopefully he does) but the deck is stacked against him on this one…

My ins. company recently ammended their policy to not cover *anything* that's on a race track or off-road. Basically, if I tank the car on a track or autoXing or anything, I'm toast.

Lowball
Some that I took... not too many interesting pictures, mainly cause I gave up taking pictures after a while (too much fun running around).
