Added a straight pipe to replace the cat. Other than that currently no changes. Next summer should find this car going through a complete Engine/Transmission and Differential rebuild in order for it to put down 350-400 at the rear.

Till then saving for it. Only thing is, if a Version V or VI STi wagon rolls along...I may give up on the Silvia....

wow....rewind to 2005 when the 2006 model was debuted....

Same crap being said then about the looks. Pignose this, looks like *** that....
Lol, I still say that about the Pignose. Never really like the Alpha influence; sorta grows on ya though.

I still love the 04-05 as the best bets for aesthetic looks. I just wish they brought over the GC WRX or STIs, as per most ppl's opinions; those were the best perf/looks combo- light weight + awesome looks.

I see 2008 WRX's just about everyday and have seen the '08 STi on the road.
They are great looking. Sure the grille and the taillights need work, but damn, get over it.
You're wrong... A lot of people liked the pig nose when it came out, and that includes me.

Also, the 06 and 07 were far superior to the 02-05 WRX thanks to the 2.5L engine and upgraded brakes for the same exact cost as previous gen. A lot of people were bitter about the 06's being better than the previous gen so they would bash the 06 to make themselves feel better about having an inferior car.

(I'm not talking about the STI, merely referring to the standard WRX)

Heh yea I remember that. One thing that bugs me is the fact that the brakes on the new wrx's are ugly again!

subaru does listen.

i have a brochure of the 2008 STi w/out the flares... and they obviously just released the new one... then i get a 2nd version of the same yearly brochure of the "new and improved" sti.

i saw an Mazda 3 the other day, thought it was an sti. that's so retarded.

WEEEE-TAW-DED!

exact same thing happens to me...if only mazdaspeed3's were AWD, then they would be tough competition. I'd still get an STi but you know.

if Gran Turismo persuaded Japan to send WRXs over, what do we have to do to get a real race car out of them? you'd think they would be doing limited run cars and hiking up the price, i guess that Prodrive car was pretty close, but thats a lot more money. They need to make a tiny car, like a 2 door hatch.

Wouldnt a Mini Cooper type subaru with STi inside sell like mad? they could also put a 2.5NA in one to appeal to other demographics or even a 2.0L, its the AWD, or better RWD that would rule.

they made the Tribeca, cool, now they need to debut a smaller car, like miata performance out of the box status

Well, I'll be doing a longer write up later today, but I drove a '08 STi at today's autox. It will not disappointed once modded. It's refinement is unbelievable, and the handling is quite good. The Dunlop tires it comes with suck *****, but the wheels are 18x8.5 with 245s stock, so 275s are easy, and 285/35/18 will be easily the tire to have with a fender roll.

I loved it. I wish I could afford one at a MSRP of 35k, maybe one day I will, but it looks great, drives great, and it VERY well put together.

Look for my write up later tonight.

Invoice of 35K

MSRP is about 3-5K above that, plus the stealership fees and location fees

2008 STi for 42500 out the door and the salesman will call it a steal

SoA rep that brought the car said MSRP of 35k. We'll just have to wait and see how it turns out. MSRP of 38-40K would be hard to justify with all the dealer markup.

That's great and dandy, but we're not talking about the STi.

I have three orders as we speak ~ a loaded (nav + bbs) is a few hundred shy of $40K MSRP ~ No mark-up!!!
