Subaru again proving it's value...

2014 Subaru Forester is the first small SUV to ace tough new crash test - Yahoo! Autos

We have a 2011 and I think for the most part it's a great car. I'd love to get a newer one. We'll have to see if we can get out of ours and in to a new one without getting buried.

It's nice that cars are able to take a beating now a days. Only that sucks for our side is determining how bad patients may be. Like coming up to a wreck you're thinking more of damn this is gonna be bad then people walk away. It's like ARF?! I;m definitely all for car's being safer, and knowing subaru's you can walk away from is totally nice.

This should put into perspective just how well the Forester did!

I would really like a Forester. I just got my Justy back from it's latest wallet-raping experience and I admit while it's a fun little car, I am ready for a grown-up vehicle now. I really like the 2014's though I still want an '04 FXT. Have to see what I can swing next year. If we can spin my son around and have him forward facing by this time next year, I am going to see if I can transform our massive Toyota into a Forester.

I don't see how that sucks. It's like "oh crap, they survived" or something?

I remember back in the early 80's going through wrecking yards and auto auctions with my pops as he used to fix/repair/rebuild Subarus back in the day. Each of my sisters had a couple '80-'84 Subies, and I had a 4x4 (hi/lo range) '82 hatch with brushguards and underbody plating to bomb around in when I was age 10-12. In all the years of seeing 1974-1984 Subarus of all body types that were smashed and destroyed, not one had a smashed passenger compartment. Mazdas, Toyotas and Hondas smashed flat, but Subarus were solid.

Seen a few XT versions on the road recently. If I was going to keep a stock car, I think they look great. A little narrow and high for my taste.

If I was going to modify one:

#1 - I'm pissed that they got rid of the scoop.
#2 - I think you'd have to put a 10" drop on it to make it sit in a good stance.

Eh, the scoop tradition was started by the XT/Vortex/Alcyone, the original turbo Subaru vehicles didn't have hood scoops.

I much prefer the lifted look of the Forester (also, works great for outdoor adventure), though I have yet to see a lowered SJ Forester.

That's an SH Forester isn't it? Though it really surprises me how good that looks.

Anyone willing to photoshop the SJ Forester?

Took me a while, but the look of a nicely modified SH Forester has really grown on me.

Although, and maybe I'm biased, NOTHING looks as aggressive as an SG5 Forester with the CrossSports JDM front end, slammed on some wide wheels. Even WRX Wagons have trouble matching the aggressive features of that car.

Again, maybe I'm biased. wink wink.

The SG Forester will arguably become the best-looking Forester. I can't help but think that.

The Sports package in 2006 only supports that further (the 2006 Forester XT Sports looks so much like the Forester STI!)

Maybe sucks is the wrong word, when you look at the mechanism of injury I would assume the worst if I saw that, now trying to handle them as a major injury they are perfectly fine.

Sucks as in its harder to determine who's actually hurt or not. Not that they are okay.

Oh, but sir... My contention is that the SG5 Forester is the best looking Forester, but only with the JDM CrossSports front end with lip spoiler.

As for STi SG Foresters, the SG9 definitely wins, as the bumper is bigger and more aggressive.
