Stupid Wal-Mart People!
My goodness, these people are just fcking stupid! I am looking to get a 1200w Power Inverter and I have the "Wal-Mart Number" for the product. NO ONE in the store can figure out how to use the damn computer and tell me if they have one in stock or not. Took them 20 minutes and talking to AT LEAST 6 people to have someone tell me they don't have it.
I have few other options, but this seems to be the best of all 8 that I've found.
these are my top two:
Wal-Mart
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=5301540
Whistler, MSW, 1200w, 10.5A, $118.87
Pep Boys
http://partsxdirect.com/part.aspx?pid=675037
Vector, MSW, 1000w, 8.6A, $135
Can someone help me out here? I want the Whistler and seems like Wal-Mart is the only local store that carries the darn thing. I want to get it from a local store so I can try it out and return it if it doesn't work for my application.
Thanks!
Leo

okay, so I called Pepboys for the Vector inverter and Micro Center for the Xantrex inverter. Took them less than a minute to tell me if they have it or not and when they'll have it.
After looking at the Xantrex inverter, I don't think I'll get it. Features are less attractive than the Whistler and Vector. I think Whistler is better due to the higer watt/amp limit (I need 900w/8a). But I think Vector can handle it just fine as well.
They both have some kind of "start-up" control to reduce spikes and bunch of protections and alarms. I think simply because how stupid Wal-Mart people are, I might just get the Vector inverter. Does anyone have any experience with either Vector or Whistler power inverters?

i keep the 400 in one of our cars at all times. ive forgotten what other brands besides the xantrex... the 1200 is great. the 400 works where the others didnt.....the other brands 1200 kept popping on me.
but the vector 400 i can run my laptop and charge my cell phone and/or camera battery while tuning or browsing. We take it to the track with us and when we drove cross country we had things plugged into it at all times.
so bascially.... the vector 400 is better than the other brands 1200 and the vector 1200 is really great when you need the extra extra power.

Good to know! Thanks!
Yeah, I have 150w in my protege and 400w in my subaru right now. I don't even know what brand they are.
But I only use them like once a year or something when I go camping or snow trip or something.

I was just at Wal Mart. Was looking for a charcoal grill, and the lady just stared at me when I asked "Do you have any charcoal grills?"
Then asked me, "Is that a shoe or a shirt?" I had to ask 5 people before I got to what I was looking for...

Can you really blame the people working at WalMart for not really giving a crap? For as little as they get paid and lack of benefits, why would they even care? You get what you pay for, including customer service.

A very loud, unattractive, mean-acting woman walks into Wal-Mart with her two kids in tow, screaming obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.
The Wal-Mart Greeter says, "Good morning and welcome to Wal-Mart ....
Nice children you've got there - are they twins?"
The ugly woman stops screaming long enough to say, "Hell no they ain't,
the oldest one, he's 9 and the younger one, she's 7. Why the hell would
you think they're twins?........ Do you really think they look alike?"
"No", replies the greeter, "I just couldn't believe you got laid twice
