So im cruising down nut tree road in vacaville on my way back home doing like 60 mph past a cop....some lady behind me high beams me warning me that there is a cop so I slow down and I am cruising at speed limit for like 2 miles, as soon as I get close to my house the cop gets behind me and pulls me over says "driving a little fast were we?" so I say no I was doing speed limit, you were behind me for a while doing the same speed as I was. so I say, may I ask why I was pulled over? and he says u have a modified exhaust so I tell him its 50 state legal and he says no aftermarket exhausts are 50 state legal so he tells me to roll my window up and he tells me all this bull****

anyways I get 3 fix its tickets for modifed exhaust, tinted windows, and no front plate to bull**** tickets ohh well atleast i didnt get a speeding ticket...

anyways is there anyway for me to get signed off without taking my exhaust and tint off?

wow, there is no way I am driving in Vacaville again. I'd get hit with all three of those as well.

 

last time i went to lunch meeting in SAC, i got a same sh*t too, no front plate and modifed exhaust. but i went to the court, i only pay $10 for that ticket, otherwise i think i have to pay $200. anyway, i am sorry to hear that...

 

zoeb, if you can prove the exhaust is legal, say, documents or a CARB thingy on the exhaust itself, you might want to take it to court if ray cant help you out.

the tint and plates im afraid your screwed on though, unless ray helps you out.

 

I dont think it would have happened if I wasn't speeding though...he told me they are all fix its and there is no fine involved, its just the fact that I MIGHT have to put all my stock stuff back on...and the fact that I might have to remove my tint...i'll see what happens, hopefully I can find someone who can sign me off....

Fix-it tickets from CHP will cost you $10 (administrative fee?). Got one a few years back when I was driving my brother's Nissan that had the two front side windows tinted. CHP let me slide on the speeding part because I was Air Force along with my other passengers. He happened to be prior AF also. Removed the tint and had a CHP officer inspect it and sign off on the citation.

 

well..u can also find someone with a stock wrx in ur area...and switch the licence plate...and have a PO sign it off...thats wut my friends do...just make sure its the same color and year...

 

Don't they check the VIN number?

 

They don't even check the car most of the time. They give those out when you **** them off. It's harasment really.

 

And even though it sounds harmless I believe its a felony...
