strut tower bar is not street legal?

i'm looking at the spt site, and they have this little disclaimer on the front strut tower bar:

* Parts with one asterisk are covered by the Parts Only Limited Warranty for Select Genuine Subaru Performance Parts (Labor Excluded). Parts intended for off-highway application only. May bring vehicle out of compliance with safety/emissions standards. Can only be lawfully installed by end user. Click here for complete details.

are they implying that using that thing is not street legal? i can't really imagine how a strut tower bar is a safety or emissions issue. can anyone clear this up for me? i'm hesitant to install any stuff that'll give me probs with the law. thanks in advance

I think you good to by this because it does not effect Emissions, but whos knows about the safety, The lawman will try to get you for anything these days.

Same reason people buy the option lips when they could get different ones...

SPT is good stuff and looks good. Some folks like to go with factory option equipment.

Me personally... if I had the dough my car would be covered in Beatrush. haaaa.

If you use it as a weapon it might not be street legal.

Yeah it's good but for the cost you have a lot of options....

Cusco, Beatrush, Carbing, Whiteline, etc... tons of options.

I dig the pink on the SPT stuff but most people buy the ebay knock offs if they just want the look.

That list above is pretty much the order of what I personally like. haaa.

There are some other great options out there that may have slipped my mind as well.

Tein. GTSpec. etc.

Don't confuse SPT with STi. STi stuff is pink and some SPT stuff is imported STi stuff, like springs and struts. Some other SPT stuff (I think exhaust) is rebranded from other manufacturers. However, both SPT and STi parts should work perfectly with your Subaru. Only difference is STi is JDM and SPT is USDM. Maybe some folks in Japan are searching for that ultra-rare USDM SPT strut bar?

I like the SPt look. Its clean, but seems more like they cost more, for me I really dont care if it is JDM or USDM...If it looks good And I like it I'm gonna buy it.

I think the only reason anyone should ever buy anything that is made by SPT is if you get it for free, or if you have Subaru bucks that you want to get rid of, otherwise there are much nicer and much better aftermarket parts to be had for much less money!

Also, a front strut bar is TOTALLY useless and will do NOTHING to stiffen up your car. It's too close to the firewall in your car and is totally useless. The only thing it's good for is dressup.

Spend your money on a rear one, or buy something else. Trust me on this, it wont help you worth squat and will be a total waste of money. The people that say that they felt a diff are only feeling the placebo effect.

Ask anyone familiar with Subaru suspension mods.
