I've been using a straight razor off and on for about 15 years. It's hands down the best shave but I tend to nick myself a lot so most of the time I just use the MachIII. Whenever I need an extra clean chave I break out the strop and the blade and go to work.

yeah. I have a pretty thick beard and always got dinged when I was in the Navy for having stubble. Straight razor was the only way to shave close enough to make it the day without stubble.

Sounds like my brother, I think he could grow a beard in 6th grade, and his 5 o'clock shadow shows up around noon.
