and last time I checked, you dont need to start the car at all to strip it down completely

cut the e-brake line, roll it onto a flat bed, and take it to shop to be chopped

At least you got a hefty *** check, almost 30k is not bad at all

What are you plans for a replacement?

 

They always look at the owner first to make sure it's not an insurance fraud scam.
It has to suck though. Knowing you didn't do it then having to prove it.

Sorry to hear about your troubles though...would have driven me nuts dealing with them accusing me of stealing my own car....

They investigate like that because a lot of people have their cars stolen...well enough to warrent looking. I actually knew a couple folks back in the day that did it more than once. Glad they took care of you.

29.8k is alot for a STOCK STi...so i'm figurin that they kicked you down some extra $$$ for the mods..
