Stolen Miata, please keep an eye out

Longshot, as I expect it's in pieces on several different cars by now, but I figured I'd try since a lot of Bay Area folks are on this forum...

Stolen from outside my house this morning in the Lake Merritt area of Oakland. It's a 1991 Mazda Miata, rattle-canned Army Green with a Black hardtop and wheels that are red with polished lips (color combo works, I swear). It's got a roll bar, sits pretty low, with daytime running lights behind the front turn signals. You really can't miss it, so please hit me up if you happen to see it. Police report has been made with Oakland PD, as much good as that will do me...

Thanks,
Andrew

Damn, that sucks. I also got a Miata as my daily...so I will definitely look out for yours.

Start checking Craigslist in case your wheels, hardtop or any other nice(er) parts pop up...

Sucks. I'll keep an eye out too and spread the news on the Miata forum.

Update: Cops found the car and I picked it up today. I was super stoked that all they took was the wheels/tires, head unit, front lip and tow hooks. They left the hardtop, rollbar (probably because both were locked down pretty well), suspension and interior. Slapped on my other wheels and oem tow hooks and I'm good to go. Overall, the loss of the wheels was the biggest issue, but it's better than replacing a hard top. Instead of running out and getting a new head unit, I think I'll get a good alarm.

Oh, and a funny postscript to this story...at no point today did the cops actually ask what was taken off the car. Just goes to show you that they are not actually trying to prevent crime or protect the taxpayer. They are content to let insurance companies do their work for them.

Thanks to everyone in the baic for keeping an eye out.

Where did they find it? Did you look where I told you? I'm glad you got your car back, its a great feeling. CHP did the same thing when I recovered it. the officer asked if there was anything in the vehicle that I didn't put there and there was a styrofoam cup with teeth marks and probably finger prints and he said that it didn't matter because the vehicle has been recovered and that they wouldn't be doing any further investigation period.

Yeah, Thursday evening I drove around in the areas you pointed me to. They actually found the car up in the hills on Delmont Avenue. Looked like it had been there awhile under some trees. Someone at the tow company said they've been finding a lot of stolen cars up there. Thanks again for your help.
