uhmm... its not worth it to him to pick up the shell, so he's just leaving it at the tow yard... if you want, i can get the name of the tow yard.. they'll probably have it up for lein sale or something in a lil bit

Damn, the most I've had is the stereo stolen out of my GN and the t-top broken to get it, and even then I felt violated and pissed of. It sucks that this happened to your buddy. I genuinly hope they catch the guys that did this.
