Ok, I believe Ryan.

So, how the hell did this car get stolen?

my car has that chip inside of the key, i dont know if this is the immobilizer you guys are refering too, if not i imagine the sti had this type of key as well, and i just dont see how you could get around a microchipped key... short of towing it away, or if you totally spaced and left yoru keys in the car

was it parked in a public place, i would try calling your local tow yards and seeing if it is there.

How much do you pay a month/annually? I've installed these professionally but never looked into how much they cost in the long run.
i paid for the initial cost and install, which i guess comes with a 2 year warranty that if they dont find your car in 24-72 hours whatever it is they will pay you for the lo-jack system.

the onyl other expense that goes along with it is after 2 years they want you to pay a $99 additional lifetime warranty for the same thing, if they dont find it they pay you back, and i just got a thing in the mail saying i needed to take it in to make sure everything was still properly working and the cost of that would be $79.

i dont think imma pay for the warranty, but besides the 2 year check up, there isnt an additional fees after the initial cost

Just doesn't add up. The Immobilizers are not easy to circumvent.

Those were my thoughts exactly. It's really hard to steal an STi, and is why we're confused as to how and if it got stolen.

So there is no service charge for the GSM or CDMA it uses to track the car? I remember someone talking about different packages but I guess time has changed.

im no pro, but if a an earlier model impreza ecu fits the plugs, even if it doesnt run right, as long as it can run, all u need is to break the steering column and hotwire the car, but then again, newer imprezas are drive by wire, so that cancels out my theory... most likely towed, or REAL theif, that says f*** you immobilizer... anyway, hope u get it back

visalia is not that big, it highly likely went to fresno or bakersfield

I can think of a few 2.5L ECUs that will start an STi without an Immobilizer.

I hope you get the car back OP.
